Three Little Maids

New Project

I am starting a new project. I am giving the Failte project a rest for a month. Hopefully I will be able to finish this project in that time. It is a smaller project. It is called Three Little Maids from Heritage Stitchcraft. I am stitching it on 28 count Crystal Conifer by Picture this Plus.

Handmade ornaments

Aside from my needlework shop, I have a shop with handmade ornaments and dolls that keeps me busy especially during the holidays.

I receive many requests for personalized items, the pictures above show just a sampling of some of those. Things are slowing down now so it’s time to get reorganized and start to plan for next year. First though a little break and enjoy the holidays. Look for an after Christmas sale in my needlework shop. Enjoy the holidays!

Fáilte cross stitch project

I am still working on this, I may have to put it aside for a bit. Time to start getting ready for the Holidays. Things have all ready started picking up in my shops and I will be going on vacation the beginning of October.

Fáilte continues

This project is coming along. I am really loving the variegated silk thread. I am using a hoop for this at the moment but may switch to just stitching in hand for a while.

Fàilte….

It is coming along nicely. I found this very pretty silk floss by Caron. It has a nice jewel tone change in colors. It is called Nefertiti. It goes from blue to purple to gold. So I am using the same floss for different sections, just planning it out.

Fáilte project moves ahead

I have started working on this. I have changed the colors, the fabric I am working on is 28 ct white chocolate linen. I am working with silk threads for this. Some of them are variegated, meaning the color changes on each thread. Working with variegated thread usually you want to finish each cross at once rather than doing a row of stitches and going back and crossing them. Using silk thread, I usually use a shorter thread (12-18 inches instead of 24-30 inches).

Failte – new project

Fáilte a chairde – Welcome Friends

So this is my next project, it comes as a kit and is available in my shop.

The pattern is by Joan Elliott and the kit is a Design Works kit. The kit contains 14 count Aida, floss and a needle. I am not really fond of 14 count so I plan on changing that. Maybe 18 count or maybe 28 count linen. I am debating on changing the color scheme a little too.

First I am going to look and see what fabric I have available, I will let you know when I have it narrowed down.

Almost finished!

So, I am almost finished with the stitching. I may go back and thicken up so of the outlining. Other than that I am pretty pleased with it. The outlining was a little tricky, it helps to refer to the completed picture. Now I need to decide if I want to make it into a wall hanging or a framed piece. I will look and see what frames I have, if anything suits it first. I should probably have it completed by the end of next week.
